Your data
Where it is kept
Renviel keeps everything in a folder named .renviel in your home folder: sessions, settings, account folders, snapshots and attachments. Keys you type into Renviel are kept in your system's keychain (Keychain on macOS, Credential Manager on Windows). Settings → Data opens the folder.
What leaves your computer
- Your messages, sent by each CLI to its provider, or to the address you set for that account. Renviel doesn't send them anywhere else.
- Update checks.
- Calls to services you connect yourself, such as an issue tracker, made directly from your computer.
The privacy policy has the rest.
Export and reset
Settings → Data exports your settings to a file and imports them again. When an imported file brings commands or servers that would run on your computer, Renviel lists them and asks first. Reset puts the settings back to their defaults.
Deleting
Deleting a session removes its conversation, and its snapshots when no other session uses that folder. Removing an account deletes its folder in Renviel.
